Freedom Run Goes International
* NOTE COURSE CHANGES AUGUST 20TH
Due to events beyond our control, we have had to modify our course route. The major differences from our original plans are:
The 5.6 mile run/walk has been modified to a 4.8 mile run walk, which will be run entirely on the streets of Barrington.
The 9.11 mile run now features 4.8 miles of road running and 4.3 miles of trails. The course is shaded and the changing terrain promises to add to your running experience.
Our military's ethics remains the foundation of trust which the American people place in their military. And we have adopted the 9 values from each of the military services as the foundation of trust you can expect by participating in Chicagoland's most inspirational running race.
Loyalty
Our loyalty to those who protect our freedoms will be experienced by every runner and walker, through the pageantry of Chicagoland’s most inspirational running event. Every mile will be themed around the nine values of the armed forces. The ceremonial start will be unlike any race you have ever attended as you stand shoulder to shoulder with those that have and are defending our United States of America.
Personal Courage
Whether you are new to running or have logged thousands of miles, our two distances of 9.11 miles and 9.11 kilometers (5.6 miles) will allow you to delve deep within yourself to courageously achieve a personal milestone. Click here to register
Integrity
We know a quality race is important to you, and that is why both our races have been sanctioned by USA Track & Field. Both courses follow a path through the charming Village of Barrington and the scenic countryside of Barrington Hills. Course Map
Duty
We also know that it is our duty to provide you with accurate and timely race results through our timing system.
Commitment
Our commitment as an organization is to support and thank our men and women in uniform, military families, and veterans. That is why we provide a 50% race fee discount to all those that have served our country as a member of the US Armed Forces and their family members. Those that are currently on active duty and those military family members who have deployed loved ones will have their race fees waived. And we can’t forget those who have made a commitment through ROTC – you young scholars will also have your race fees waived. Click here to register
Selfless Service
Our aid stations and mile markers are manned by some of the areas most selfless individuals – Scouts, Cheerleaders, community leaders, sports teams and more – who are prepared to serve you from fully stocked and easily accessible aid stations.
Honor
Being runners ourselves, we know that race T-shirts are a badge of honor. We will make sure that every runner receives an awesome T-Shirt with a cool race logo.
Excellence
We know every runner is prepared to achieve your own level of excellence on race day, and we believe in acknowledging your accomplishment. So at our race, you’ll get a really cool finishers coin personally handed to you as you cross the finish line by another who has lived his/her life with excellence – A U.S. military veteran!
Respect
For those with the greatest velocity on the course, we certainly respect your talents and speed. As such awards will be provided for the first three places in each age group as well as within the military divisions.
